What’s Included in Our Natural Tick Control Services

Every treatment is applied by licensed professionals and built around the conditions of your specific property. Here’s what the service covers:

Plant-based spray applications: Licensed professionals apply plant-based sprays to target ticks in their resting and breeding areas, focusing on the perimeter, wooded edges, and shaded zones where ticks concentrate.
Tick tubes: Tick tubes use treated cotton to eliminate ticks through their natural behavior in the environment, reaching areas where sprays alone can’t.
Habitat-focused applications: Habitat-focused applications address standing water, leaf litter, brush lines, and shaded ground cover, the environments ticks depend on.
Custom treatment plans: Custom treatment plans account for your property size, layout, and regional pest pressure so nothing gets missed.
21-day recurring service: Recurring service runs every 21 days to maintain the protective barrier and break the lifecycle, helping keep tick activity consistently low through the season.

Tick Risk in Greenville & the South Carolina Upstate

South Carolina residents can encounter six tick species: blacklegged, lone star, American dog, brown dog, Gulf Coast, and Asian longhorned ticks. Bites and tick-borne illness can occur year-round in the Upstate, which is why consistent, habitat-focused treatment is often more effective than a single application.

Tick Species Common in the Upstate

The lone star tick is the most commonly collected species in the state. Beyond the discomfort of a bite, lone star ticks can cause ehrlichiosis, Southern Tick-Associated Rash Illness, and alpha-gal syndrome, a red meat allergy triggered by a protein in the tick’s saliva. The blacklegged tick, also called the deer tick, is found across South Carolina in lower numbers but can transmit Lyme disease, tick-borne relapsing fever, and anaplasmosis. Transmission generally requires the tick to be attached and feeding for 24 to 72 hours, which is why finding and removing ticks early matters. The American dog tick is also present in the region and is associated with Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

How Ticks Find a Host

Ticks can’t jump or fly. Instead, they climb tall grasses and shrubs and wait for a host to brush against them, a behavior called questing. That’s why brush lines, leaf litter, and shaded ground cover are the first places we treat.

Personal Tick Prevention Between Professional Visits

Peak tick activity in the Upstate typically runs from May through September, though ticks remain active in milder conditions outside those months. A few habits go a long way between scheduled treatments.

Cover up in high-risk areas: Wearing long pants tucked into socks reduces the surface area ticks can reach when you walk near grass or wooded edges.
Use EPA-registered repellents: Products containing DEET, picaridin, or permethrin can provide meaningful protection against tick contact.
Check kids after outdoor play: Children are particularly likely to pick up ticks in grassy or wooded areas. Regular checks after outdoor time, especially around the hairline, behind the knees, and under the arms, help catch any hitchhikers before they attach.
