Two Automated Mosquito Systems, Installed & Maintained for You

Evening gatherings shouldn’t come with a mosquito problem. Mosquito Authority of Virginia Beach, VA offers two automated mosquito control technologies for Virginia Beach homeowners: the Automatic Mosquito Misting System and the LIV Smart Mosquito Repellent System. Both keep your yard protected on a consistent schedule without any ongoing effort on your part. Before any work begins, a licensed technician walks your property and recommends which system fits your yard’s layout and conditions. Both are backed by our service guarantee: if mosquitoes return between visits, we retreat at no charge.

The Automatic Mosquito Misting System

The Automatic Mosquito Misting System installs a nozzle circuit throughout your property that automatically disperses treatment to reduce mosquitoes and other insects. Dispersal runs two to three times daily across all covered areas, maintaining a protective barrier without you lifting a finger.

You stay in control from your smartphone: adjust timing, pause the system for a vacation, or respond to increased activity with a few taps. Our team handles monthly maintenance to keep the system running at full performance. We install it, service it, and maintain it. You don’t manage the hardware.

The LIV Smart Mosquito Repellent System

The LIV Smart Mosquito Repellent System uses an installed Smart Hub and up to five repellers to create a protected zone across your outdoor space. Each repeller covers a 20-foot diameter zone, making it well suited for patios, decks, pools, and play areas. The heat-activated repellent begins working within minutes of activation.

One Smart Hub powers and controls all repellers through low-voltage plug-and-play cables. Everything is managed from your smartphone through the LIV+ app, which provides on-demand scheduling and low-repellent alerts. Once installed, the LIV system runs year after year with no additional setup required from you.

Does Your Yard Need an Automated System?

Not every property needs an installed system, but some conditions make automated treatment the right call. These signs suggest your yard would benefit:

Swarms appear during outdoor gatherings even after recent treatment visits
Standing water on the property can’t be fully eliminated
Bites occur mid-day or in recently treated areas
Extensive vegetation, wooded edges, or water features create persistent breeding conditions
Your property size or layout needs more coverage than a recurring spray program provides

Our licensed technician assesses your specific conditions and recommends the right fit before installation begins.

After Installation: Ongoing Service & Monitoring

Installation isn’t the end of the relationship. Our licensed technician assesses your property on return visits and flags any new problem areas that have developed since the last service. Conditions change with the seasons, and consistent monitoring keeps your system performing the way it should. Removing debris, keeping gutters clear, and draining containers that collect water all reduce the breeding conditions mosquitoes need to establish.

Mosquito Pressure in Virginia Beach’s Coastal Environment

Virginia Beach is home to more than 30 mosquito species, and the coastal environment keeps populations active throughout the warm season. Mosquitoes breed in standing water held in containers such as buckets, flowerpots, bird baths, clogged gutters, uncovered boats, and unchlorinated pools that have held water for more than a week. Dense vegetation and water features on private property extend breeding habitat well beyond what city programs address.

The City of Virginia Beach’s Mosquito Control Bureau monitors mosquito-borne diseases in the area, including West Nile Virus, Eastern Equine Encephalitis, La Crosse Encephalitis, and Saint Louis Encephalitis, and performs citywide adulticiding, larviciding, and ditch maintenance. Those efforts focus on public infrastructure and citywide breeding sites. Protection on your private property is a separate matter, and that’s where an installed automated system can provide more consistent coverage.
